Working in High Performance Teams

The brief

A senior management team (SMT) in a large multinational company wanted to improve team working within their own team and for the 200 people in the two different groups that they had recently merged.

Our client wanted to:

Build the new combined senior management team (SMT) into a strong team, with a shared understanding of each others skills and working style.
Understand how the SMT could improve its image and reputation within its own group and the wider company.
Encourage 200 people from previously competing parts of the business to work together as a team in the newly merged department.
Help all employees to understand what contribution they needed to make in order to ensure success for their new department.

The delivery

We ran a 2 day offsite for the SMT based on the theme of working as a High Performance Team. This featured a series of lively and thought-provoking seminars wrapped around two of our key products, “The Grid” and “Crisis” which very much brought out the team issues, skills, and behaviours that we discussed throughout the two days.

Half-day workshops then followed for the 200 employees covering the personal skills, attitudes, and motivation needed for every individual to really play their part in turning any team they work in into a High Performance Team. These sessions were built around the “Crisis” simulation, and were highly praised by the participants who told us that it was great to get some personal training that they could really understand, see value in, and use to improve themselves at work and at home.
